Adrian de Sauvanie publishes independently under the name of Apollonian Publishing

The first two books Adrian has now released are the first novels in a series on which he is currently working, entitled The House on the Rue du Suquet. Each novel follows the life of one of the five fictional homosexual men who inhabited the same house in Cannes on the French Riviera over the course of several centuries. Although the main characters of the books are all homosexual men, the stories are completely universal in character, and are written to appeal to readers of any predisposition. There are most certainly sensual references contained in the novel, but these are always in service of, and essential to, the story.
In complete contrast to the image now generally associated with its location, the entire series is set on a dark, rather Gothicky stage, and is written in a quirky style, liberally besprinkled with the author’s characteristic black Anglo-Saxon humour.

A website dedicated specifically to this series of novels may be found at rue-du-suquet.com.

Amadéus Capelle

The main themes of this first book, which begins in 1911, are intricately interwoven religious fundamentalism and unrequited love. The story is about a simple young fisherman named Amadéus Capelle, a very confident and physically rather lionesque being, and about the very dogmatically orthodox and unattractive middle-aged Malachie Vansuerenhuyse, who, very much against his exceedingly rigid principles, falls in love with the young man. The novel tells the tale of the many extremely awkward battles the very zealous older of the two wages within himself, and the numerous uncomfortable encounters he has with Amadéus.
